Jack Wilshere has held talks with MLS club Colorado Rapids with a view to becoming their next head coach, report The Athletic.
The former England international has been in charge of of Arsenal’s under-18 team since July 2022, where he led the team to the 2022–23 FA Youth Cup final in his first season in the role.
The US outfit made a formal approach to Arsenal, who like Arsenal, are also owned by the Kroenke Sports & Entertainment group. Last month, the Rapids parted ways with head coach Robin Fraser and approached Arsenal to speak with Wilshere, who has only been managing for over a year.
Wilshere, 31, wants to move into senior management and reportedly impressed in his interview with the Rapids. The club’s supporters are frustrated with the Kroenkes and Wilshere would have a major challenge on his hands with a side currently struggling.
